Zeus, King of the Gods on Mt. Olympus, God of Lightning and Sky for the Ancient Greek Society. Zeus remains one of the most recognizable ancient deities even in modern times. The influence the Greek culture had on the world cannot be quantified. The undisputed leader in the minds of the ancient Greeks was their father deity, Zeus.
The power and influence afforded to Zeus by the ancient Greeks were unimpeachable, unequivocal, and unassailable. He was the source of judgment and exacted that judgment when necessary on mortal or deity alike.
Though his power was absolute in the Greek culture, his character was much more that of a mortal man. There were many extra enterprises that were said to have created offspring by Zeus. Any wonder Hera could be touchy about that topic?
My series will not shy away from that flaw in his character, nor the tension it created within the Greek deity community.
