One of the reasons I chose to write my book and picked the topic I did, was because of the modifications to history that I have seen for decades. I’m not a historian, but I would imagine much of this moving inconvenient facts around in history books, in news articles, on monuments around the world, would seriously make many historians irate. History should be about the facts. History is not clean…it is most certainly not usually nice…but it should be the truth. Of course, those that wrote much of it also altered it for their side’s benefit. So sifting through the propaganda is always interesting.
History is also not exclusively made up of nice peaceful stories about how civilizations lived and functioned. It involves wars, conflict, evil doings, power grabs, and many other horrible catalysts to get things started. Good people often stepped-in to right the wrongs, but usually, a massive conflict was involved…. and subsequently many innocent deaths.
If those terrible, horrible, completely wrong events that started the loss of innocent lives is forgotten then history has also taught us we WILL repeat some version of those previous events someday. When history is cherry picked then it is no longer history, it is opinion. I do not do political opinion on this blog, and do not want political comments left. I will not respond to them. Social media is filled with the dust storm of politics, so please post your political thoughts there. If you wish to discuss the alterations you have encountered, that have been happening for generations around the world, feel free to comment and give me your thoughts on this topic.
